Meet
the midwife
My journey into birth work was not a direct one. I began my professional life in education, teaching at both the elementary and middle school levels. After having children, I spent over a decade as a stay-at-home mother, a season that profoundly shaped both my personal life and my approach to care.
My first two sons were born in the hospital, unmedicated. Wanting something different for my third baby, I discovered a local birth center, where I later welcomed both my third son and my daughter. That experience, along with early memories of witnessing two of my cousins being born, sparked a deep passion for birth work and ultimately led me into midwifery.
In 2018, I became a doula and then a birth assistant. I enrolled in midwifery school in 2019 and have been in active practice as a midwife since August 2021. I am a Florida Licensed Midwife and Certified Professional Midwife (CPM), credentialed through the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM).
I currently provide planned home birth care in Lee and Collier Counties, with prenatal and postpartum visits in Fort Myers. I intentionally limit the number of families I accept each month so I can provide attentive, individualized care and truly get to know the families I serve.
On a personal note, I’m a mother of four and an introvert at heart. I love quiet time, reading, baking, caring for my ever-growing collection of plants, sunsets at the beach, music and concerts, all things Disney, horseback riding, and traveling whenever I can.
A little more of my story
If you’d like to know more about how I found my way to midwifery, the heart behind Peaceful Beginnings North, and what this work means to me, I had the opportunity to share my story with Voyage Tampa.
